Personnel
The Town of Brookfield Fire Department is made up of dedicated professionals. These men and women that serve this community strive to provide the best service they possibly can. Our great personnel is truly the greatest asset to this department.
All personnel are trained to the minimum of Firefighter I and Emergency Medical Technician—Basic. The department will pay for other training beyond this point, but this is done on the member’s own time. This is an example of the dedication they have to serve you. Below is a listing of classes and the time that is required for each.
Fire
Firefighter I—96 hours
Firefighter II—42 hours
Fire Officer I—72 hours
Fire Officer II—45 hours
Fire Inspector—60 hours
Fire Instructor I— 40 Hours
Fire Instructor II— 40 Hours
Driver Operator—Engine—
72 Hours
Driver Operator—Ladder—
36 Hours
EMS
EMT Basic—140 hours*
EMT Paramedic—1,200 hours**
*Requires 15 hours per year of refresher
**Paramedic is in addition to the EMT Basic hours. Paramedics require 24 hours a year of refresher
