Fire Inspection

The Town of Brookfield Fire Department conducts regular fire safety inspections of all public buildings in the town.  Some of these include:

· Industrial buildings

· Office buildings

· Retail stores

· Restaurants

· Multi-family occupancies

· Nursing homes

· Hotels/Motels

Fire inspections are done every 6 months, in accordance with state law.

Inspections are performed by on duty members.  This is why you may see an ambulance or fire engine parked outside a business.  This is done so members get an opportunity to see the buildings from the inside.  In case of a fire, they have a previous knowledge of the building.

Inspections are a vital role in firefighting.  After all, the best way to fight a fire is to prevent it from occurring.
