Mission Statement
The Bureau of Instruction & Training’s primary focus is to develop the intellectual and physical competencies of each department member so that each member can expand their contributions to the fire service and the community.

The fire service is always changing. In order to keep up with the changes, the Town of Brookfield Fire Department strives to give its members the best training.
Department wide trainings are conducted periodically depending on the subject. Each month, subjects are laid out for members to complete. There is at least one of each fire, EMS and Specialized training to complete.
On shift training is conducted daily. This keeps our members sharp with skills needed to perform their job. This explains why you might see firefighters out in the area conducting evolutions.
Members are encouraged to continue their educations. The department pays for state certifications and National Fire Academy trainings. To see the amount of time required to obtain fire certifications, click here.
