The Town of Brookfield Fire Department prides itself in providing the best emergency medical care to its customers
The fire department provides a tiered response. This means responses are based on the severity of the call.
Since the 1970’s, the department has provided basic life support care and transport services.
In 1999, the department began providing EMT-Intermediate care. This care included IV lines, advanced airway care, and medications for diabetic reactions and respiratory distress.
In August of 2002, the department began to provide the “new” EMT-Intermediate care. This includes all the skills of the “old” Intermediate plus new medications for cardiac emergencies, pain relief, and skills for trauma patients.
In August of 2004 the department made another step in providing paramedic service. The decision to go to the paramedic level was easy, it falls in line with our mission to provide the best possible service to our customers. As paramedics, our personnel are able to provide even more in terms of drug therapy and advanced procedures to those we serve. TBFD Paramedics work under the Waukesha County EMS Protocols.
